Would you like laughing gas with that?

Hi peeps,

My man is home! Yay!
He got here about 4:30 , we were on the boat by 7.

It was supposed to thunderstorm so we didn't stay out long .We came back and drove over to Olive Garden. Naturally they were packed, as was every other restaurant in town.

We wound up going downtown to the "authentic German restaurant" ha ha . Authentic my eye! The food is about t.v. dinner quality. With a slice of good old American cheese melted on top.

One of the things I look forward to about England is getting out of the "grease belt" .If it ain't fried , it ain't food around here.

It's supposed to be pouring rain all day today so THIS will be our day off. Meaning my spouse will lay around on the couch watching the most boring t.v. shows on earth.I will try to finish the book I've been reading for a week now (between chores and naps)
Exciting! NOT!

I'm way behind on posting ,so let me think...what have I missed???

Oh yes, the crown. I have never had a crown before. My dentist had explained to me that they file down (drill down) your exsisting tooth to a little nub and then cement a fake tooth over the nub.

(This is NOT MY mouth BTW)

There you see a prepared nub. And some extremely drilled up gums.

When I arrived at the dentist I knew that shots and numbing would be involved. I was surprised when they asked me if I wanted some laughing gas. "Sure, sign me up!"

They put this thing over your nose ,like an oxygen mask and you breathe in the gas. Well, luckily they gave me the gas even before the shots.

It does lessen the terror ,of mostly anticipating the shots. It also made the 2 hours pass faster than it would have without it.

I recall saying "this gas is blowing right into my eye"
The reply "well shut your eyes."

DOH!

They cram your mouth full of the doughy stuff to make a mold of your tooth and then come back and glue in a temporary crown.

I was told "it may be a little sore, like a piece of popcorn stuck in your gum."

What they didn't say was "the entire surface of the temp crown will feel like rough popcorn, your mouth will not close normally because it is bigger than your real tooth, and it's going to drive you ape shit for the next month."

All in all , good times. :)
I highly recommend the laughing gas.
(Brad) :)

**************************************************************************

I guess that's all I've missed. The rest of the week was just cleaning and more cleaning before my hubby got home.

Mission accomplished!

(don't look at that closet)

Now my spouse can spend the week trashing it all.

He's really quite good at it too.

Any one have any big plans for today? Hope you all have good days in your worlds.

Luv me

I had a crown once. That fake popcorn tooth is pretty giant and awful. Wait til you get the real crown. You're going to want to replace all of your teeth with crowns!

I guess you didn't need a root canal? Neither did I. Apparently many crowns require them. Ask Ian, haha.

Don't like arkansas food? Wait until you have shepherds pie, kidney pie and beef so ripe it's green! That's how the british like their meat. You'll dream of french fried sweet potatoes, fried claims and such! auntie j

Mark helped repair Kimberly's soffit, he and Joe worked on Joe's bike, we went to the grocery, and then made a barn bird house for the auction at our family reunion next weekend. That's pretty much all that happened here today.

Tell hubby I said hello.

Enjoy your week.

Have you had the pleasure of English food? Let's talk about it after you do. Though the food may be much better where you're going. It seems that cooking styles vary from area to area there as well as here.

I am absolutely terrified of going to the dentist. Don't know why but I just can't help it. They slap the gas on my face the minute I sit in the chair and turn the flow on high. Believe me, I'm sucking it down until I float away.

By the way, your house looks really nice. Wish mine could be as neat as yours.

Enjoy time with hubby.

about 1/4 of my teeth are crowns with most of those even being root canals--and i have never had laughing gas-- that's just wrong.

did you go alone- i'm surprised they gave you gas without a driver. (if you didn't have one)

anyhow-- word of advice-- do not chew gum with that temp crown!!! and never ever eat a big hunk again! LOL.. i have pulled a temp out-and broke it in half chewin gum.. and you saw the big hunk horror :((

luv me-

I have about 8 crowns. I despise going to the dentist, but I must say all were painless. The temporary should fit nicely if they do it right and feel just about normal. Your cage looks really nice - good job! Enjoy the week with hub. G5

The week we spent touring around England in a rent car, we stayed at B&B's and ate dinner at pubs. I must say the pub food was very, very good. They did have one fried offering as they all do - fish n chips - which is fried breaded fish and french fries. We didn't eat any. Had a variety of other offerings and never ate a meal we didn't like. For breakfast it was usualy bangers n mash. Bangers are fried English sausages (like a weiner except sooo much better) and mash is hash. G5

Eek! - I thought this was going to be easy - like that just slap some band around the tooth to hold it together after the root canal.

Oh Joy! - Do I really need teeth? I have a blender, I could just puree everything from now on.

Dam.
