Puttin' the smack down....

and our heatwave.

Note O'Reillys ears.

Ears now flat....he's getting the smack down.

"I slap you face!"

(ears even flatter) LOL

The trail to the store.

It always reminds me of Hansel and Gretal.

The lowest clouds I think I've ever seen and the most warmth and blue skies I've seen in God knows how long.

How they're alive? I don't know.

Lying on the bathroom floor like a dog.

Cavuto is totally obsessed with the cat next door.

I thought they liked each other....

Who the hell knows.

Comments to comments:

love the pix--- happy you got out-- why is it a ghost town?

It wasn’t .It was actually pretty busy. Just a rare split second where everyone was out of sight.

z cats look happy -- and i wanna see zebras !! why on earth would there be zebras cruisin down town?

I guess there are no zebras. Lol I think that’s what they call a cross walk.

Great pics. i love thrift shopping! am very jealous. Our only decent one closed down recently!

Thanks. I don’t know what I’d do without thrift shops. It’s my main hobby :)

Anonymous

Do you carry an umbralla when you go out? If not, how do you get around?. You probably said but I've slept since then -- was that 'bed' in the closet made for the cats? Aj

When I go out I always have my rolling backpack. In it are gloves, scarves, hat ,ear muffs, umbrella and my little purse. That’s a cat bed. There’s one on top of my wardrobe too.

I am laughing at what you said about McDonalds. I don't go there much anymore, but my hubby is gone today and the main thing on my mind is going to McDonalds to get something to eat.

I go there because it’s cheap. LOL I never eat there back at home.

The Red Lion Hotel looks interesting but what caught my eye was the stripes on the street. I could make no sense of them. Zerba crossing? Maybe an overstressed city employee had something to do with both. Just kidding. That's my wierd sense of humor.

I don’t get those stripes on the street either. One more reason I do not drive here!

Lovely pictures, looks like you enjoyed your day, out and about.
The "Zebra Crossing" is what they call the black and white cross-walks...guess they were giving the motorist a "heads up" so they can slow down.

There you have it.

Anonymous

What!!? You had your choice of some fine lookin pubs and you chose to eat lunch at McDonalds? Gahhhh!!! You coulda had a beer with your lunch. Draft ale. Great pics. They guy who painted the white stripes in the street in front of the pub must have been drunk. Good buys except maybe the little old lady pillow cases. G5

Those are shabby chic pillow cases and someone put a LOT of work into making them. LOL, MEN!

Believe me, I never thought I would be looking forward to McDonalds as my “big treat” , but it costs me 4 pounds just to take the bus TO town, then a double cheeseburger meal is about 3 pounds and 50. So, I’ve nearly spent 10 pounds, before I even hit the thrift store. I can’t afford to eat at a pub!

Wow, besides the crappy weather you have had, the pics look amazing! I miss Europe. It kinda looks like Germany.I hope your weather changes and soon! Love ya,

I remember when you were little and would come back from Germany wearing some cute ass red shoes, I was sooo jealous. I don’t think any place is that unique any more. That’s just sad.

Fareham? I didn't know you lived that close to me! I'm only in Winchester. Never been to Fareham, actually....but I know where it is.

Glad you got out though! If you ever want to catch a train and head to Winchester on a weekend, let me know! :)

We went to Winchester once. I thought the place was adorable. My spouse was a grouchy drag that day. I think I can take a bus there.

Titles are for good posts.....................

Don't think I will risk taking HIM with me next time. LOL

Loved the post and pics.

Thanks honey!

Blogger

Haha, good idea.
Can't wait for spring/summer!
Yesterday at the park, the weather was fine. Now it's freakin' 42 degrees out! brrrr!

Believe me, I can’t wait either!

Ha today, I told my hubby “OMG! We’re having a heat wave; it must be 45 degrees out!”

ahhh wes quitchyer cryin-- 42 is a nice day out here lately :))

Yeah…see above.

that was a wonderful trip down a summery lane -- thank you :))

So am I!!! except for the fish part. lol

I love your house...brought back fond memories...waking up in the morning sitting at the table with the window open smoking the forbidden morning cig.,.having happy hour laying on the kitchen floor(she has the cleanest of floors)..Looking at our feet...up on the kitchen counter....you forget the very good smelling gardenias...they are the best. right outside your back door.....I have the best of times at your house!

Counting down the days Poodles!

You have a beautiful condo back home. The pics just prove it. Now, if you ever are sittin in that beautiful condo complaining and bitching about anything about it - you will immediately be sent to England where you will live in a shoebox for 9 months. Ha! Distance will make your heart grow fonder and I know it will be good to get back into 98 degree heat here in God's country. G5

You got that right buddy!

Yryin to figure out where that last beautiful sunset pic was taken. Was that at the Back Porch Grill? G5

That was on the deck at Does.

Not sure where it is, but looks great. A boat ride would be great and love the sunset pic. We have sunshine outside right now, hope you do too.

Yep, surprisingly…we HAD sun for the last 2 days! That is my home in America, it’s in Arkansas. Not that I’m a hick or anything. :)

That's not all the comments...but it's past my bed time.

To be continued...........

Lil' a this lil' a that ...whole lotta nuthin'.....

My bathroom is too small OR this is what happens when you try to keep hair color off the wall to wall carpet in your frekin' bathroom.

Freezing,rainy ,dreary.

Woo hoo! The better to make you miserable

"Microwave, microwave, near the wall, who's the cutest cat of all?"

" Wha'? I think he meant ME!"

I just made this apple cake . I had to use a square glass baking pan so I cooked it on 325 for an hour. Also didn't have any of the spices except the cinnamon so I just used 3 teaspoons of that.
No nuts either.

But YUM! I wish I could eat the whole pan myself! (right now)
It would totally rock with a crumb topping. But it's moist, dense and yummo just the way it is. Like apple brownies :)

Senile American .....and a P.S.

Well, today I took my big 2 hour trip to Fareham. If I need to go to the grocery store or don't want to walk home all the way from over by quarantine,I only have a 2 hour window.

They had a big street fair going with little kids dancing and a D.J. , he was playing the macaraina.
I kind of wanted to stay , just sit around and watch the life going on around me. Then I thought of how ,if I don't take the 13:25 bus home.....then I'll have to walk the long way home and then walk all the way to the grocery store, after that.

I pulled my baggy, falling off, pants up (again) and decided to catch the 13:25 home.

Here's something you may not be aware of, in England public bathrooms....err ....I mean
"toilets", as they call them, are few and far between.

We grew up being told "Don't say toilet! Call it a rest room. You dirty girl!"
Well , get to England and the sign says "Toilet". Every time I have to say "Excuse me, do you have a toilet?" I feel like my mom's gonna rise from the grave and give me an ass whoopin' !"
(you dirty girl!)

But, I digress....As I was listening to the music, watching the dancing and wishing to stay.....I was also thinking " Oh lovely, I have to go to the bathroom." Toilet...WTFE.

As my Alli still hasn't f'n arrived, I was forced to buy some generic looking exlax type product, which I o.d.'d on last night....just to make sure it worked.
Well, now, here I am in the middle of town ...oops, City centre.....and my guts are gonna blow!
(2 weeks worth ,if the pills work)

The nearest toilet is at the END of my 35 minute bus ride ,when I land at the grocery store.

My stomach churned the entire ride and I made it to the err toilet . Thank God :)

Your welcome for the TMI. LOL

I've been trying to write this post for 3 days now. Ok, where was I?

Oh yeah, I had an encounter with some British blokes the other day. I was on the walking trail on my way home from the grocery store. Ahead of me are 4 guys standing on the grass. As I'm walking towards them ,I think "they look like they're bored and looking for trouble."
I start mentally trying to guess their ages as I'm walking.

I get a little closer and I hear one of them say"hey it's that girl again."

One of them yells out to me "You always have a suitcase don't you?"

I say" Actually, it's a backpack."

"Are you from America?"

I'm passing by them as I yell back "Yes."

"You look just like Peggy so and so." One yells .

"Who's that? " I say

" She's a really buff mod el" He says with a British accent, while doing a muscle pose.

Hmmm... I must look up this Peggy when I get home. LOL

I keep walking and then they start singing "She's an American girl ....she'll come into your town ...she'll help you party down...she's an American girl."

I was chuckling to myself the rest of the way home.

Oh and I guessed their ages to be about 9 or10 years old.

Naturally ,by the time I got home I had totally forgotten the last name of this buff Peggy.
Damn you, senility!

Does she look like this?

*********************************************************

Well it's Friday ,my spouse is on his way to the airport right now to come home.

My big plan is to get caught up on my chores before he gets here. Exciting ,I know.

Happy Friday peeps!

***********************************************************Oh , and ..here's a P.S.

My darling friend Brad sent me this email :

I google-ed "peggy british model"

This must be what they meant.

You must be right ,the resemblance is uncanny.

I 'm feelin' the love brutha' :)

Oh, p.s. 2 I meant to also say that if the little boys had been closer to me, they would have really been embarrassed to see that I was old enough to be their grandma .

It's the little things ya'll :)

Have decor will travel.....

Ola ya'll,

Saturday Floozie 2 and I spent hours and hours out on the boat.I brought my camera and totally forgot to take any pictures.Doh!

We were supposed to meet up with our neighbor Dr. Charlie and his girlfriend Jennie. We searched for them about half the day and never found them. No surprise there. The lake was so crowded with boats it was like a holiday weekend .

I was going to go back out yesterday but I could not keep my eyes open. I was a lazy slug all day.

I spent some time on the internet looking to solve our decor problem (in the England house)

What's the decor problem? We don't have any decor. That's the problem. Not only are the walls completely bare (except for cat shelves) they are also painted a hideous shade of white with the nail holes painted a non-matching shade of white. *cringe*

Everything over there is ridiculously expensive and /or ugly. (No offense Britain)

This for example. I could buy this at the thrift store and spray paint it black myself for about 4 dollars.

No, I will not pay 40 bucks for it in England.

How about this? I do think it's cute for a Christmas decoration.

But for 35 dollars? Umm, I think not!

How about this? (Bradley! You must get one of these!)

Isn't it adorable? I've never seen the likes of it in the US.

But ....I digress. The only way I am going to have a decor in England is if I bring it with me.

I have started collecting some lightweight stuff that will be going in my suitcase.

After going through every speck of art in Hobby Lobby........this is what I have so far.

I'll have to get frames over there.

Cats.

More cats.

Kitchen towel hooky thing.

Ha ha . I just had to get this. Not sure where it will go yet.

Yes, I know ,I still have a long way to go and only 3 weeks to do it. Save me! I'm a nervous wreck!

Is there a mermaid in the house?

Ola Ya'll,

Yesterday blogger was listing my links like NO ONE had updated for days. Then today ,I see it says "one day ago" WTH?
Some of you did update and blogger lied to me.

I'm supposed to go meet Floozie1 at what we call "the bacon buffet" in a little bit .We do Sunday breakfast there quite often. In spite of that, I just got on the scale and have now lost 17 pounds. WOO HOO!!!
Weird how I still look exactly the same ,when i look in the mirror.

I may as well tell you guys about my new summer business plan. Either we'll be jinxed or we won't be. Figure the odds. LOL

(click on it to see it big)

As you can see, we are having a problem coming up with a decent mermaid. (this is just a rough draft) but I hate her. she's too "little mermaid-ish"

Here's MY great mermaid. lol

Equally hideous ,in her own special way.

If any of you happen to be an artist...could you please send me a mermaid? LOL

I have a fun filled day of cleaning and laundry planned. I had thought that was yesterdays plan but it took me all day to get half of it done. So more of the same today.

Knuklehead on top of the cabinets.

Note the ear sores ,nearly healed.

Ain't I pretty?

He often uses that gourd for a pillow.

(yes, I see that I need to dust that crap)

sweet kittie feet

Have a great Sunday !

Luv me

Update:: Now we're gettin' somewhere. How about this one?

Random crap and a surprise ending.......

Hi y'all,

Is this Tuesday or Wednesday? Hmmm....Hell, I don't know.
Anyhow, yesterday I took the bus to Fareham to do some shopping and go to the library. There's a big indoor shopping center there ,but there never seems to be enough time.

Here's how it goes. I leave here around 10 , walk to the bus stop. The bus arrives and then takes about half an hour to get there. Then ,I have to be waiting for the bus back by 2 ,so I can take THAT bus and get dropped off by Cavutos place. Then I go see him and then walk home from there.

So, like I said, I barely had any time to shop. I was mostly searching for WARM things! Like turtlenecks ,sweaters and warm socks that would cover my entire body. I did not find any of those things.
But I did get a couple pairs of British jeans at a thrift store. Not sure yet if they will fit on me or not. I have no idea what size clothes I wear here.I'll find out in 2 days after they dry . lol

On the days that I do not take a bus any where I must walk to and from the quarantine place.

Like today.

Believe me, if I could get my hands on THIS outfit, I'd be wearing it!

Where was I going with all that?

Oh yeah, Monday when I went and saw Cavuto ,he looks and sounds so sad and lonely. I sat there bawling (as usual) for the entire visit.

Monday night I (while bawling, as usual) told my hubby "I can not take 6 months of it."

He said " I know ,I can't stand it either."

Look at this knucklehead.

Where could he be , to be sleeping in such contentment?

Ha! on daddy's back.

Sleeping through happy hour.

You saw it here folks.
A Crazy cat man.

Some random crap:

When I poured out my first bag of frozen spinach I found that it was frozen into these little muffin shapes.

How convenient.(for portioning)

Fancy a brew?

You know you do!

(how's that fro some crappy advertising?)

Those are actually little tiny splenda pills.
It takes 6 of them to sweeten a cup of coffee.

I'm probably dying of Splenda over dosage as we speak.

Look how short (and bland) the paper towels are.

I find myself not wanting to use them because I will run out so soon.

Ok , I saved THIS for last.

The wheels are in motion. As soon as we figure out all the details ,Cavuto and I are going home!

Have a great day peeps!

Luv me

Hotel deluxe

Hi Y'all,

Well we didn't make it to London proper. I suppose the area we went to would be called the outskirts of London.

If you recall the way my spouse takes a trip .......

Road trip fun with Skatzi

He does not go out of the way to have fun, eat, ect...

So ,we went and got the stuff from An American mom , then we hightailed it right back home.
It's always cool to meet a blogger in person. She's only the second one I've met in real life.
Her and her hubs and adorable baby were all very nice. (Good luck in California guys!)

My spouse got home and immediately set up his new T.v. and my Lucy dvd's are on the way from Floozie 2 . Yee haw! (Thanks again floozie2 for sending my stuff!)

Here are the only sights we saw on our little trip.

Nice empty hotel.

We can get you a room there REAL cheap
:)

Now I know where to get those middle eastern dress's I've had my eye on.

We saw the word " Halal" all over the place . Since I had no idea what it meant ,I looked it up. Even the Subway sandwich place had a sign saying "all meats are halal"

Halal
(حلال, alāl, halaal) is an Arabic term designating any object or an action which is permissible to use or engage in, according to Islamic law and custom (opposed to haraam). The term is widely used to designate food seen as permissible according to Islamic law. It is estimated that 70% of Muslims worldwide follow Halal food standards[1] and that the Global Halal Market is currently a US$580 billion industry[2].

In the Arabic language, the word 'halal' refers to anything that is permissible under Islam.

It was like suddenly being in a different country.

My spouse kept nagging me to quit taking pictures.

Hello, I'm a tourist . Um ..NO!

We went beforehand and saw Cavuto.
Click the arrow to see the pitiful baby.

Every time we go there we are very tempted to send me and Cavuto home. We will have to decide SOON wheather we will do that or not. 6 months seems like an eternity for him to be in there.

My hubby even said "If it was O'reiily in there ,I'd be going home right now and living on peanut butter sandwiches if I had to."

Well, he will understand then if I can not bear it for Cavuto either. We will see.

I still haven't been able to get to my comments OR my NEW YEARs post. Sorry, I'm trying:)
Mr Landlord is coming today to fix our faucet so i must get busy cleaning this place up.

Have a great Sunday peeps!

Luv me
