My laundry!

Ola ya'll,

Well My hubby got home yesterday, from Sweden about noon so I had this brilliant plan to go to the doctor , wouldn't ya know it they're closed on Thursday. Gah!

I did however take a little quiz on their website and apparently I do not have the swine flu. They diagnose it remotely , through this quiz and if they think you have it, they will allow someone else to come pick up the medicine. Ok, whatever ...I'll just keep taking my LEMSIP and Nyquil.
Surely it's got to go away eventually.

Neeless to say, I have barely been out of the house. I think I took the bus to Fareham Wednesday. Here are my first British thrift store finds.

Black mirror to go with my ugly black candleabras.

A score for 3 pound 50 pence.
(whatever that means)

and.... a monkey bowl for 2 pound 80.

The money situation is very confusing to me. Maybe I should get some of those little kid workbooks and learn the metric system and the money from scratch.

My kids are gearing up for their annual halloween bash. One in Florida and one in Chicago. I can't wait to see the pictures. (living vicariously thru the young) :)

My oldest also bought himself a ticket to Chicago for Christmas. this will be the second Christmas without us. :(

I'm glad they will all be together though.

(all my hooligans last Christmas)

Pajama Kareoke??

Love you guys!!!

*********************************************************************

I was going to go take a bus somewhere I haven't been today and then have hubby pick me up after work, but then I remembered they are delivering my groceries at 3:00 today. So nope , can't do that. I'm waiting for my 3 hour frekin' wash cycle to finish so I can hang up the laundry :)
Oh how I love hanging laundry inside the house. Makes me feel like I'm living in the projects.

I am behind on all my email So please know that I'm not ignoring you.....just sick and unorganized :) hopefully I'll get caught up this weekend while my hubby is laying around watching hideously boring news and old movies.

We just found out we have to pay a bunch of money for taxes. Ack! I am NEVER going to get a dining room table and chairs :(

I think I no longer hear the washer.....off to do the next load.

happy Friday peeps!

Please ,put a bag over my head won't you....

yes, I am a bitter hag right now.

That little dark spot up there is Monkey. She stayed there from 5 a.m. allllll day long because she's so afraid of Cavuto .
ack!

Still life called "sick and depressed"

sorry, but no!

How could anyone NOT be depressed looking at this view?
Can't I have a dining room table and chairs?

"I'm bored"

Does anyone really look like this when they're sick?

I think NOT!

UGH! I am terminally hideous.

Sweats rolled up with black socks because I've been too ill to do laundry? Check.
Hair gone to pot worse than dead straw? check.
Pasty ,blotchy skin with no strength to apply makeup? check

THIS is what sick and depressed REALLY looks like.

anddd...to top it off I cut my own bangs and they look about like this now. Isn't that special.

Bond.....James Bond

It's been pouring rain for 2 days. I am STILL sick . may I just scream???

I (obviously) have nothing to blog about :)

Have a great day ya'll !

luv me

Isn't that just lovely.......

"We have got to go somewhere today, even if it's just for a drive."

"How about if we go see how hard it is to get in and out of Gosport?"

"Sounds lovely!"

So yesterday we took a drive to Gosport. You can drive there or take a ferry from Portsmouth.
As you can see it was very gray out.It makes for lousy picture taking, let me tell you.

Gosport also goes down as a NO ,for places to live .Too trafficy to get in and out of there.
So the search continues.

It was great to get out of this house . I feel like I've been in prison for over a week.

When we got home Cavuto kept getting in his stroller, screaming ,screaming and screaming. He was begging for a walk.

I finally took him out so he would shut up.
(it has been days, the poor little thing)

An old lady rushed up to us and told me Cavuto was lovely. It was lovely that he was out in a stroller. She thought cats were lovely ,in fact her house was decorated in cats and she only gives to the animal charities because they're lovely.

All in all , my chat with her was just lovely :)

I have a hard time understanding people when they talk. I must seem like a real moron to them.

Well hubby is off today for Sweden and who knows where else, I can't keep track. I do feel a bit better FINALLY and I plan to get the heck out of here and go do something thrilling, like go to the library. (ha ha ) yes, even that sounds pretty thrilling about now.

Have a great Monday peeps!

Q and A's

Your burning questions......my delayed answers. (sorry, I'm a terrible commenter to ya'lls comments)

(ignore that "blogger" stuff. IDK)

How far is the walk to the grocery store?

It’s hard to tell since the whole way is on those little walking trails. It takes about 15 minutes. Maybe 12.

Blogger

Your booze rack is nice!

I don’t really think it is a booze rack. All the beverages here come in small (maybe quart) sized containers. Cokes, milk everything. I have not even seen a gallon of milk.

So which one is the Alpha Cat. It is prolly O'Reilly, the King of the Pride.

It is O’reilly. Even though Monkey is older. She has never been the alpha cat. It used to be our dearly departed Stew. When he was gone O’Reilly just took over the role.

Blogger

who keeps taters in the fridge?

I do! At home we have a dinky, lousy excuse for a pantry and every time I put a bag of potatoes in there, one would rot and it was disgusting. I finally tired putting them in the fridge. They last forever in there and if one rots it doesn’t get all smelly and gross. If ya think about it ,I guess that’s why they used to keep them in root cellars. Nice and cold.

,you guys don't drink milk?

No, neither one of us ever drinks milk. Usually if I buy it for cereal it always gets rotten before it gets used. I gave up.

Have you met neighbours yet

Nope, not a soul. I have seen the ones right next door to us. They are a young couple in their 20’s .

Blogger

How are you preparing this delicious cod?

The delicious cod comes frozen and pre-dusted. It’s called “lightly dusted cod” I blacken mine with cayenne pepper, black pepper and garlic salt. MMMMMM

No dryers because where the hec would you put it? On top of the dishwasher? –

I wouldn’t care if they put it over the toilet! I would just like to have one.I do not like stiff clothes.

Blogger

when are you getting your leggings? ha ha

I had some, I left them in Arkansas. I didn’t know they would be the IN thing!

British people often say that they dress better than Americans. I have to say that they appear to be just as bad. Lol

I would have to agree. of course that doesn’t go for the business people. My husband wears a suit to work every day and I’m sure the other men do as well. God only knows what the women look like. I’m sure London is dressier than where we are. This is a pretty blue collar area.

so. i was enjoying your slideshow, when it came to the "tongue bar". WTF???? do tell.

I have no idea what “tongue bar “you speak of. WTF? Indeed.

Blogger

Yeah, being pooped on by a bird is good luck.....when it happens to someone else!

Truer words were never spoken!

The news paper looks real! How did you do that?

http://www.fodey.com/generators/newspaper/snippet.asp

sweetie - I keep looking for you online but haven't worked out the time diff to tell when you should be around. What is it ? 9 hours ahead of west coast time?

It’s 6 hours later here than Arkansas, so it would be 8 hours later than west coast time.

well-- do you know your phone number yet?
What kinda phone didya get?

Believe it or not, no I do not know my phone number yet.

My phone is a Samsung m3000 or something. It slides open and has a camera and an mp3 player ….none of which I know how to use yet.

Can't believe that midget broom. Who would buy such a thing?

Can you believe I have yet to see a real broom in any store. WTH?

I know whatever you may do is your own business, but did you say smoking area in the kitchen?

Yes, I did say that. If you know me ,it should come as no surprise that I sadly fell off the “no smoking” wagon. Yes, I do disgust myself if it makes you feel any better.

Anonymous.

Is this a different part of England since you went last year?

No, this is the same part of England. Same apartment too.

Do all the young Brit women dress like a 2 dollar prostitute?

Apparently so.

ok - Soul's cat REALLY need to go on a diet! – wow

I’m sayin’! I am dying to know what her vet had to say about that little obese cat. Soul??

******************************************************************

That's all folks! I got nuthin' . Stayed in bed most of yesterday. I must have some kind of flu because colds don't last 2 f'n weeks.Gah!

happy Sunday peeps!

Laura Ingalls needs some nyquil...

Hi ya'll,

Yes ,I'm still frekin sick and I'm damn sick of it!

I feel like the entire week has been wasted.

O'Reilly the acrobat.......

or bad boy ,one of the two.

The only thing I accomplished all week, my laundry. Laura Ingalls would be so proud.

This is how we dry our sheets here in the olden days.

Even though I was sick as a dog ,I still had to walk to the store whenever I needed anything. Hubby was gone to Finland and Denmark.

This is the way to the store.

also on the way to the store.

The way we grocery shop in the olden days. This backpack has been all over Chicago, Seattle, Sweden, and now England.

I think it's time I had a prettier one.

The grocery trolly being unloaded.

(You get the evil eye if you ask for a plastic bag, that is really frowned on here as a big no no)

All this fit in my handy dandy backpack.

Look at the expression on Monkey's face.

(pass the cat prozac please)

Well, hubby is home and exhausted. He's all geared up for a weekend of lying around like a sloth. Yay, more of what I've done all week.

Hope your weekends are fun, exciting and illness free !

luv me

I'm not lazy,I'm sick....yeah..that

Gah, so yeah ,I've been sick since Saturday, I've stayed in bed(mostly) for the last 3 days.

Today ,it was down to ...which is more hideous? walking around sick or staying in this house for one more boring second?

Walking around sick WINS! Of course I had to go out and walk just to get more cold medicine anyway.

I am bored out of my mind. Hubby is gone to Denmark and Finland for the week. This place is a crackerbox. I have plenty of housework I could be doing but.....I'm sick.

When he left ,I was on my 3rd day of looking (much) worse than this.

It'll be a wonder if he comes back home.

I got nuthin'.....so HOW bored am I?

Here ya go........read it and weep . bwa ha ha !

Cat shelf

Skinny coke

The only choice for creamer

half a dozen eggs

VIP drawer....we like ice.

Yes,I know my lettuce is rotten ....I'm not lazy, I'm sick.

Coins I'm too blind to identify.

On the cat walk....on the cat walk....

Nosy much?

Generic? Who the hell knows, it's all there is.

Triple play

Got gas?

Can he be inquisitive enough to actually DO the dishes?

The garbage disposal.....you know you're jealous :)

Too bad Daddy lost my harness.....I can't go anywhere.

THE TORMENTOR

whipping that tail around, tormenting the crazy Monkey.

Damsel in distress.

(ok, crazy beeotch in distress)

She's still horrified.

Happy humpday!
