OMG. Here it is ...02:04 o clock, what ever the hell that IS.
It doesn't matter here.
It's Christmas eve. Even though my kids are "grown" ,I am usually the only one awake , setting alll the presents out.I am still /and have always BEEN Santa.
Tonight ,there is no Santa.
I have never been sad on Christmas .until now.
Does any one even care?Does anyone miss the Christmas that we usually have?
Besides the presents, I mean.
do you miss the fun? the sarcasm? the laughter? the love?the family-ness?
I hope you remember us this Christmas , and know how much we love and miss you.
Love Mom

I've got your anti fun right'chere............
Hi Y'all,
I hate to bitch, but I think this is the worst Christmas since the original "scroll kit Christmas".........
Picture it....Bakersfield ,California. Our mother had just rolled our penniless asses into town with the car running on fumes, for the latest of our cross country moves . (For reasons known ONLY to her)
Soul and I were kids ,maybe 14 and 10.We promptly moved into the glorious roach motel known as Rancho Bakersfield. It was a kitchenette kind of thing in a run down motel, mostly occupied by truckers and their lot lizards.
Soul and I took what little money we had between the 2 of us and took a bus downtown. We searched through every store for the perfect (affordable) gift for our mother.

We came up with this little beauty. Only it was mounted on wood.
She absolutely hated it.
Yeah, what were we thinking , getting a giant wooden poster for some one who lived out of a suitcase?
Live and learn , ea'
We hung around the motel room while our mother was at work. We dined at the trucker cafe on french fries and gravy. (all we could afford)
Christmas eve came and we held on to the childish hope that something magical would still happen.
We woke the next morning to fruit and nuts (our mothers standard Christmas treat) and one small wrapped package for each of us.
Imagine the thrill and wonder as we ripped them open and gazed upon our gifts.
We gazed in shock and horror as we saw our "scroll kits"
In case you were never blessed with a scroll kit I shall tell you what it is, it is 2 sticks and a rolled up piece of paper. You are supposed to write a bible verse on it, roll it up with the sticks and WA LA , you've got your very own scroll.
My mother had some friends who were Pentecostal preachers. I'm sure that is where she acquired those fabulous gifts.
:)

Normally Christmas is our best ,happiest time of the year. We have our big gorgeous tree, we send for the kids , the presents are stacked all over the room. Games are played, cocktails are consumed, dinner is an all day event. We have the neighbors over. We take all the kids out to eat on Christmas eve.
Christmas morning we always film the opening of the presents, the cats are right in the middle of everything. It's all fun and laughter and fighting over scrabble games.
Picture it.....modern day, England. Christmas eve.
We have no tree, no kids, no decor, Cavuto is in effin' quarantine,no presents, no ingredients to make a "real" dinner.I am hideous. I need a haircut and can not afford one.My skin is hanging on me like a pair of baggy, worn out pantyhose. There's a litter box in my dining room.Laundry hanging in my living room . My husband is depressed (he can deny the existence of depression all he wants, I KNOW depressed when I see it) My ankles hurt from walking my ass off every day.My hairspray won't hold ,there's NOTHING on TV, ever , I can't keep my eyes open past 8 p.m. and I STILL have that damn boil on my ass.
I've become Laura Ingalls.Up, while it's still dark out . It takes all day to do my chores and errands the "primitive, old fashioned " way. And Pa is a grouchy ball of "anti fun"!
Ho ho ho. Merry poopy Christmas.

My brother in law made me this slide show.
Thanks Jim! So far I can't make it past the one minute mark without bawling my head off.
*******************************************************************
I'll be right back....I must go smoke.
Time seems to go by faster here. Maybe it's the Laura Ingalls factor. Or maybe because it's nearly dark by 3 p.m. I haven't figured it out yet. But I seem to run out of time. I haven't had time to do my comments since I've been here. There's no time to put off doing things, like the dishes, when you only have enough of them for one meal.
Yesterday , I realized that if I didn't find the library THAT day, then I was going to be dying of bordom over Christmas. Hubby will be home ,watching fox news, star treck, and God kniows what else.
So I walked over to the shopping center, took a bus to Fareham, walked about a mile and got myself some British library books. Woo hoo!!
Then I took a different bus back so I could be dropped off near quarantine.

Cavuto was thrilled to see me. He was getting up on the high shelf hanging down ,with his arm stretched out at me...talking away.
Hubby picked me up on his way home.
How long did it take to do those 2 things?
All day.
Here's a few pictures from yesterday. Frankly , the area was an ugly one. The sky is so dark, the pictures always look awful. Enjoy. LOL

An AMC Pacer got pregnant and had these babies all over England. LOL

Dreary church tower.

Sideways tree's on the building, amidst the gloom.

Double decker. I Haven't been on one yet.
OK, I suppose I've spread enough joy for today;)
Have a wonderful Christmas eve peeps!
I will if we have enoguh Vodka. ROFL

Please pass the cheer.....
Hi y'all,
I'm behind ,as usual. I went to see Cavuto Saturday and he was sick. He had a fever and was puking all over the place. They said it was probably from the "worm medicine he had been given"
I just love the way he has now been forced not once ,but TWICE to take some shit that he never needed in the first place.
They are closed on sunday , so I did not get to see him yesterday. I hope he is ok.

We did take a walk yesterday and figure out the way to get there from here.
It's about a 25 minute walk.
This was on the way there. These trails are everywhere.
The drive there takes longer than walking.
Today will be my first time walking to see him. I hope I don't get lost.

We took a drive to a town called Port Solent.
This was broad daylight!
Marina with lots of big boats.

Also a shopping center with restaurants and bars ,mostly.

Inside a place where we had some horrible coffee. Gah! I forgot how strong they make it.

I tried the "brown sauce" which tasted exactly like Heinz 57 steak sauce.
Even though my husband had lamb last night ,he was too much of a fuddy duddy to try the mint sauce.
Speaking of him, he's been about as fun and jolly as a corpse lately.
Pass the cheer, man.
******************************************************************************
Saturday I got dropped off in a town called Fareham to hit some thrift shops. They had about 6 of them on this one street.
They were small and more like little boutiques than thrift shops. Nice clothes (which I did not need) and a few household things.
I need to find the bigger ones. I saw one with furniture but was afraid to go in there because my phone was nearly dead and if hubby called, he'd never have found me if my phone didn't work.
We also went and looked at dining room furniture. I REFUSE to pay what they want for that stuff. We will wait until I find a decent "used" set.
We are using the cat crates for night stands in our bedroom. Whooo! How stylish. lol
All my clothes are in the drawers under the bed. Not one place in here to hang anything up on a hanger.
And my black coat is covered with white cat hair.

The other cats are settling down a little. But are not their normal selves by any means. Monkey goes areound screming ,and driving us nuts! O'Reilly jumps on our shoulders, lays down behind our necks and expects to just stay there.
Last night he opened the kitchen cubbord and got inside there to snoop.

He's getting into everything!

"What? I'm nosy. ok."
Have a great day peeps.
I'll be back later to get to my long neglected comments and put up some new observations.
luv me

The quarantine blues.....

Hi Y'all ,
We went and saw Cavuto yesterday. I managed to make it through our visit without bawling my head off. I also saw some of the neighboring cats. One was a beautiful Siamese cat and the cat right across from Cavuto has been there since July. He gets out in January.
I found this awesome website that tells you how to get from point A to point B ,every possible way. Including walking,if it is correct ,I should be able to walk to Cavutos place in little over a mile. We'll try it this weekend while hubby is home.
Cavuto was thrilled to see us. He seemed like his normal, happy self.I brought a carpet square and bungee corded it to one of his shelves. He loved it .
Didn't get to go anywhere yesterday besides quarantine and the grocery store. I hope to venture out today and actually SEE something.
This is sure not what we had planned for Christmas. ack! We will be spending zip for presents ,decor etc.
Dinner will be IT. And hopefully we'll get to go out for that.I have NO desire to cook some big dinner.
***********************************************************************
Here's a few observations I remembered from the other day:
I like the bottles their spices come in. They are square and much neater to stack in the cabinet.
When WE mimic a British accent, we do it all wrong. Try it speeded up about 10 times faster. THAT is the way they talk. Yesterday when I bought cigarettes ,I could barely understand what they were saying to me.
Everything is also metric here. If you ever want to feel real dumb , come on down:)
I finally printed myself a chart for the temperature and the time. I don't need all that extra thinking. LOL
I like my bathtub , it's really long. But the toilet seats, ugh. They feel just like some one left the lid up and there is NO seat.
Everything is really expensive. YIKES! A pack of cigarettes is over 5 pounds. I plan to (try to) quit A.S.A.P. Try, being the key word. :)
*******************************************************************************
I have NO cleaning music. My new computer has no speakers. I have no radio, no cd player. All I have is my walk man thing and headphones, but then I can't hear the phone ring. It's driving me nuts! The silence.
There's no point in having the t.v. on, unless I wanted to catch up on all those episodes of Bewitched I've missed in the last 30 years. nah, I'm good.
I knew I should have brought my speakers. Damnit!
*********************************************************************
I hope to be back later today with something exciting or fun to report.

I owe everyone email. I haven't forgotten about you, I just haven't worked out my schedule yet. :)
have a great saturday !
Luv me

Discombobulated babble

Here's our Christmas tree. Isn't it lovely?
Bwa ha ha !
I'm pretty proud of it.
:)
Well ,let me see.......what was i going to post about????
Yesterday I walked over to the shopping center.I was going to try and take the bus from there to go see Cavuto. But..the bus never came.
Hubby will be taking me to see him today.
I tried a British hamburger and some chips. The meat tasted nothing like ours. I am not sure why that is. The chips were just fat french fries. And the price....5 pounds. And that was without any thing to drink. I got a diet coke at the grocery store cafeteria . No ICE. Not one cube.
The kid told me "we don't do ice."
Here's some other observations:
Our washing machine takes 2 hours to wash one load of clothes.
We must have some very hard water here. My hair is like hideous dead straw and will not even comb right. ack!!
I like the refrigerator. It's about 7 feet tall but narrow, so it take up less floor space.
The cheese here is awesomely delicious!! Even O'reilly goes crazy ,wanting some. He usually only likes asparagus and turkey.
I have no idea what day it is, or what time it is. EVER. And the money.....people could be robbing me blind when they give me change. I 'm totally clueless.
Last night I watched House. That is the first tv show I have seen since I've been here. the selection of shows is beyond awful!
(someone please tell me how to watch my shows online)
Yesterday I had tons of stuff I was going to tell ya'll and now I can not remember any of it.
I am dying to get to a thrift store. They have gads of them, but so far I haven't been able to venture out anywhere. I think I will be able to take a bus over to some of them.
Months ago ,when my spouse bought a bed they brought the wrong bottom part. We ordered the one with drawers in it. They are FINALLY bringing the right part today. So I am stuck here waiting for them. gah!
My schedule is really screwed up here. At home , I sit in my office have my coffee and smoke ,as I update and do my email. Here, I sit here for a while then have to go downstairs under the stove vent to smoke. At home I also have my cleaning routine down pat. I am usually done by 11 and ready to go eat lunch and run my errands. It is taking me longer to clean this little cracker box than it does our condo.
Our car is a diesel stick shift. Can you imagine driving on the wrong side of the road, with the steering wheel on the wrong side and also trying to shift with your left hand? HA! It will be a miracle if I ever drive !

Our only Christmas decor. Ho ,ho ,ho.
bleah.

Here's the front of our house.

And how about some of this? You know you want some!
I haven't figured out what you're supposed to do with it, but the store has tons of it.
Ok, I'm off to go smoke. I'll be back latah'
Thanks to all of you who offered to watch Cavuto for 6 months. If we happen to win the lottery or something I may take ya up on it. :)
Have a great day peeps!

Hi Ya'll,
Well I got to see my baby today . I brought his bed , his toys and a blanket that smelled like us and the other cats.He was thrilled to see us.
I also brought my stupid chip scanner and kept trying to get his chip number to come up. It didn't .I will NEVER quit trying . I BELIEVE in miricles:)
I will try it every time I go there.
He was not in a wire cage , like I had pictured. I was picturing something like a chicken slaughter house. lol
He was in a tiny (floor space wise) but tall , little room. It had a shelf with his kennel on it. A plastic lawn chair , and maybe a two foot square of free floorspace. The rest had his litter box and food bowls.
It had shelves higher up, that he could get up on. But they were like laminate counter top material. I got some carpet remnants tonight to put on them. The worst thing was that the place is not heated.
Inside his kennel is a heated pad,but the room itself has no heat.
I tried to think of it as if he were "a cat",
lol
as opposed to MY baby .....
Some cats LIVE outside or in barns......right???? Then I tried to think of the "scale"...like ,if he were a tiger in the" wildlife place" vicki and I went to,how small is this space? It would be about the same as the tigers .
BTW.....If you care enough to see the tigers space....it is on my old blog (Half old girl)in May ,I believe. Under Eureka.
So, it was pretty hard. I want him to be home soooo bad. We brought his cage home and O'reilly went crazy looking for his baby.
It's already nearly 9 P.M. here ,so I must go eat my dinner. I'll finish this and get to the comments tommorow at coffee time :)
In the mean time ...here are the pictures we took of the digs. If we weren't supposed to , no one told us. Oops, we bad.

*********************************************************************
Don't know if THIS was allowed either, but I printed THIS and taped it on Cavuto's wall.

I'm Cavuto and my nickname is Baby.
I am spoiled rotten and my family loves me very much.

I usually wake my mama up at 5 A.M. every morning because I am so happy to be awake.

She usually gives me some whipped cream after I make her get up.

I hate to be picked up except for "this " way.
I love to be held on your shoulder , like a baby.

I like to drink my water from a running tap.

A few weeks ago ,I won a photo contest on Catster with this picture of me on my boat.
Please take good care of me.

Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes.
Don't quit praying for that miricle!
